Khandallah Arts Theatre Newsletter April 2005 Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas, directed by Ewen Coleman 28, 29, 30 April & 1, 5, 6, 7 May. Under Milk Wood begins
on "a Spring, moonless night, starless and bible-black". Every phrase
is an incantation, conjuring up the sights, smells and above all the sounds of
Llareggub, a little Welsh seaside town. You'll meet Organ
Morgan, butcher Beynon, Willy Nilly, Nogood Boyo and a colourful host of others
as detailed on the back of the enclosed handbill.
Pass the handbill on others to encourage them to come or help advertise
the show by putting it in your car window. Please note that the
play will run without an interval but tea, coffee and juice will be available to
take in with you. There will be an interesting photo display of the Welsh
village to inspect beforehand. This production of Under
Milk Wood will be a magical evening of theatre, at turns funny, touching and
delightful." This is a great opportunity to invite
along people new to KAT. Of course
the best night to come to show your support and to be the first to rave about
Under Milk Wood, is the opening gala opening night, 28 April, 7.30 pm for 8pm start. Phone bookings to

The website has been redesigned and updated. We would like to thank Paul Langham very much for his work on the website. Photos from Under Milk Wood are on the website. Thespian quiz – we win again In March the annual thespian quiz challenge was hosted by KAT. Tawa Community Theatre and New Players came to puzzle over the tough questions posed by Margaret Robertson. It was a close battle between Khandallah and Tawa, but KAT won by just half a point (we must have forgotten that the burden of winning is having to host the next competition!). Perhaps winning this had something to do with our annual fundraiser… To keep our quiz talent strong we need lots of people to come to our annual pub quiz fundraiser. This is a hilarious night, so get a team of six together or come on your own and we’ll find you a team. There will be prizes for the winners (and various others). Don’t miss out. For more information about this night, please contact Marj Lawson ph 972 6180 Use brain cells not cell phones during the quiz. Lighting Workshop This is one of our most popular club nights where we have snacks of Shakespeare. Members direct and act in their favourite Shakespeare scenes. The convenor Margaret Walls, please call her on ph 479 3654 to get involved.
