Outdoor Play in the Park – Opens Waitangi Day with two performances at 2 pm & 4 pm.
This is the seventh year that Khandallah Arts Theatre has prepared for an outdoor Play in the Park. This year it’s The Three Little Pigs by Carl Nixon, directed by Susan Vella. The cast are
The Three Trendy Pigs: Jessica Doube, Alice Pearce, Lynn Coory and their Aunt Petunia: Paul Langham
The Sly Wolf and Sidekick Cat: Shelly Reet and Cathy Agnew
Red, the “Hood”: James Owen
The Magic Hammer: Marie Thomson
As you will have worked out there are new characters you never thought existed in “The Three Little Pigs”; it’s a contemporary story with more twists than a pig’s tail. A flyer is enclosed telling you more about the play. Share it with others you think will be interested or tape it to the back passenger window of your car.
AGM 20 March – Wine and Cheese 7.30 pm at the Cochran Hall, Cashmere Avenue School Hall
New Committee members welcome: the club is in great shape with a good back stage support and organization, increasing interest from directors and strong programme for productions and club nights through 2007 and into 2008. Become involved in the committee now – ring President Paul.
Pack of Lies will be directed by Guest Director Bob Cater
Audition 4.15pm February 18th See audition notice
Most of Bob’s working life was in arts administration and education until his retirement as Head of the School of Arts at Whitireia Community Polytechnic. He still does some part-time teaching and chairs the Porirua Community Arts Council and its Waitangi Day Festival of the Elements.
His leisure interests have been mainly in theatre and history, threads that come together neatly in Pack of Lies. He is a Past President of the Porirua Historical Association as well as of the Porirua Little Theatre and the New Zealand Theatre Federation.
He has written four shows and worked backstage in set, costume and lighting design.
He has been on stage in some 80 roles, in plays ranging from Shakespeare , Brecht and Ibsen to Roger Hall and Tom Stoppard. Also he’s appeared in musical theatre, where his roles have spanned from Yum Yum in The Mikado when he was a boy soprano to Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof when he wasn’t.
Starting at Auckland University, he has directed nearly 30 productions, mostly for Porirua Little Theatre. The last of those was Nunsense which won the “Best Overall Production” award in the Wellington District Theatre Federation’s 2002 full-length festival
