KAT CHAT Khandallah Arts Theatre Newsletter January 2006 Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Carl Nixon The year begins with another Play in the Park. Susan Vella directs this very funny play where audience participation is required to save Goldilocks from a gormless prince and some weird bears, and Goldilocks finally discovers her real family … Photos of the show can be viewed on kat.wellington.net.nz. You have received flyers advertising the play with this newsletter so please use the flyer to encourage potential audience members! Four new members are performing: Cathy Agnew as the Queen, Hannah Stuart as Baby Bear, Pauline Humphreys as Mother Bear and Shelley Reet as the Hair Choppa Offa. Old hands continue to shine: Kevin Brown, Margaret Roberston, Marie Thomson, Tanya Piejus and Paul Langham. Entry to the play is free. The venue for the play is Khandallah Park, and if the weather is wet the alternative venue is the Cochran Hall at Cashmere Avenue School Hall. Audition for Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose The classic jury room drama. Directed by Kathi George The audition will take place for 13 men of all ages on Sunday 19 February at 4.15pm in the Cochran Hall. Production dates are 20 – 29 April 2006. Note the dates now! Financial membership of KAT is expected of new cast members. Backstage crew are also required and interested people should contact Margaret Walls - ph 479 3654. Members’ News Keith Hambleton and Don Langridge have been booked for an event at Government House called “An Afternoon in Provence where they must act the part of petanque players. Sounds like fun. Bernard Vella will appear on TV2 in February or March in a show called “New Zealand’s Brainiest Kid” David Soper and Michelle Parish have had a baby called Aidan and he’s lovely.
