November 2005

Club Night, Cochran Hall Tuesday 15 November 7.30pm

Chook Chook by Fiona Farrell

Margaret Walls is directing a reading of Chook Chook, a play that has never before been seen at KAT although it is a perennial festival favourite. It’s sharp, funny and serious; life in a shed full of battery hens has its advantages and disadvantages. Valmai, Chrissy and Georgia have each adapted in different ways in their efforts to avoid THE BIG BLACK BAG. Then Bron arrives from the OUTSIDE with tales of roosters and green grass.

The experienced actors taking part are Jillian Carpenter, Stathia Golding, Lisa Duggan and Joy McLeod.

Supper duty falls this month to Candis Brockie, Avril da Vanzo and Jenny Fenwick. Please come a bit early to put out chairs and tea and coffee things.

Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn

Our October production was a great success. Congratulations to Ian Munro and his team for bringing the play to life so convincingly. A big thank you to all those involved backstage and Front of House for loads of loyal support. On average 79 attended per performance with the biggest number being 114 on the second Friday night. ‘Word of mouth’ had done its thing!
