The
next major production for Khandallah Arts Theatre, Haywire begins with
the Gala Opening on Thursday 30 September.
We
welcome back Stephanie Dolphin (nee Shroff) who is playing the part of
Mandy.
This witty comedy is about Alec Firth who prepares for a weekend away with
his assistant, Liz. His wife, Maggie
is departing for a five-day ladies’ outing while his mother is in a retirement
home. His children have left home
and he hasn’t seen them for months so all he has to do is leave home and meet
Liz at the airport. What could
possibly go wrong? You’ll have
to come along and see for yourself.

LAST
CLUB NIGHT
A big thank you to Susan Vella for all her
hard work in putting together the August club night of Solid Gold Hits by
David Geary, especially as on the night she had to be director, props person and
the leading lady! It was a dreadful
night weatherwise, but we were very pleased at the number of people who turned
up.
ARTS, CRAFTS
AND ITEMS – 16 NOVEMBER
Do you know of any craft person who would like to
display their wares for sale?
If so, please contact Glenys on 479 1197.
Is there anything that you would like to display?
We are planning to have an arts, crafts and items evening on Tuesday 16
November and also hoping to have performances from
the school. If anyone has a
‘turn’ they would like to perform, please contact Margaret Robertson on
479 2436.
We would also welcome pictures or jewellery that no longer have a use by
their owner, please contact Margaret Walls on 479 3654.
OUTREACH
Ross Foubister and Hilary Rutherford have been assisting
Cashmere
Avenue
School
with their latest production of Kiwi Crooks.
While Ross set up the lighting, Hilary has been running it for the
performances. The show features New
Zealand
music and is interspersed with all the references to pavlova, hokey pokey,
ice-cream and gumboots that you would expect from a home-grown production.
It tells the tale of typical
New Zealand
children who use their cunning and stealth to solve a bank robbery.
