Club Night, Cochran Hall Tuesday 20 September 7.30pm

New Zealand Poetry et al

Glenys Lloyd assisted by Monique Spanjaard is organising our September club night. James Owen will talk about his recent visit to the Globe Theatre in London. James went as part of the Sheilah Winn group and found it a really wonderful experience. Jackie Vaughan’s pupils will perform pieces from their recent exams and members of KAT will share their love of New Zealand poetry. Come and enjoy a night of theatrical experience and verse!

Supper duty falls this month to Adam Burstall, Amy Cavanagh and Elizabeth Cummings

Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn, Cochran Hall

Bedroom Farce is a very funny play. Ernest and Delia are celebrating an anniversary with pilchards in bed, Malcolm and Kate are preparing for a house warming party that will turn out disastrously, Nick is bedridden with a painful back while his wife Jan goes off to the party where she meets up with old flame Trevor. Meanwhile Trevor and Susannah’s marital disasters impact on all the others. The part of Nick will be played by Dave Soper.

Ayckbourn says "I find that the laughter arising from the understanding and recognition between the audience and stage characters is the most rewarding.”

March 21 AGM and Impro/Charades
April 20 – 29 Major Production directed by Kathi George
May 16 Thespian Quiz with other clubs
May 21 or 28 Sunday Resource Day Workshop 1 – 5pm
June 20 Winter Solstice and Mid Winter Christmas Celebration with music and poetry
July 18 One Acts – readings and performance, if entry in Festival of Community Theatre is contemplated
August 15 Pub Quiz at the Posties Whistle
August Planning for 2007
September 19 Full length play reading
October 5 – 14 Major Production
November 21 Australian theme club night – BBQ and readings

We’d like to have TWO people organising each of these activities – more fun and more support and we’ve had some offers. We need more or these lovely plans may not happen! We’re also going to attend other club’s productions. Would you like to organise us to do this next year by email? Please contact Margaret W. margaretwalls@xtra.co.nz or phone her on 479 3654.
